The Andhra Pradesh Solar Power Corporation (APSPCL) has reported the completion of the 1,000 MW Kurnool Ultra Mega solar park in the state of Andra Pradesh, India. It has been connected to the Indian grid.
The Kurnool solar plant has been developed by several companies of which the Indian power developer Greenko, which acquired the rights for 500 MW of capacity at the plant from the US company SunEdison in December 2015 with a bid of IRup 4.63/kWh (US$0.071/kWh).
The remaining 500 MW of capacity was awarded to other developers and EPCs, of which namely Adani Power and Azure Power (100 MW), which were awarded their capacity at a tariff of IRup 5.12/kWh (US$0.079/kWh). SBG Cleantech has developed 350 MW at a tariff of IRup 4.63/kWh (US$0.07/kWh).
