Wind and PV ‘dominate future of power’ as costs plunge: BNEF

steeper
wind
and
solar
cost
declines
will
see
the
two
renewable
sources
“dominate
the
future
of
electricity”
and
attract
more
than
$6
trillion
of
investments
by
2040,
says
latest
research
from
analysts
at
Bloomberg
New
Energy
Finance
(BNEF).

The
latest
BNEF
New
Energy
Outlook
2017

sees
onshore
wind’s
levelised
cost-of-energy
(LCOE)
plunging
by
47%
by
2040,
adding
to
a
30%
fall
over
the
last
eight
years.

Offshore
wind
does
even
better
with
a
71%
LCOE
decrease
by
the
same
